Sexual Violence 101: Among People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities April 13th from 10:30 AM – 12:00 AM CT via Zoom The presenters are Julie Petty and Kiah Hall The purpose of this training is to discuss the prevalence and signs of sexual violence among people with disabilities and will discuss recommendations of how organizations and advocates can reduce sexual violence. This training is designed for Direct Support Professionals serving people with disabilities but is open to anyone who wants to attend. We will be talking about good examples of being an Ally. The discussion will include personal examples of ally ship, practicing the pause, and question/answer time. Sign up here for Coffee Time with Allies Allies Supporting Choices April 20th from 10:30 AM – 12:00 AM CT via Zoom The presenters is Donnie Denome from Autistic Self Advocacy Network. We will be discussing ways people give consent in their everyday lives and how important it is to learn how to communicate choices. We will go over everyday examples of consent and how it is really important for people with disabilities (outside of relationships or intimacy). Consent is something that already happens all the time, it's not just something for relationships. So let’s talk about it!
