PreSchool Openings Still Available in Springdale AR

As many as 227 openings currently exist across six different schools in the Springdale School District for pre-kindergarten students. The schools with openings include Southwest Junior High, George Junior High, Lakeside Junior High, J.O. Kelly Middle School, Monitor Elementary and Parson Hills Elementary.

The program is free to those who qualify. Parents interested in registering their child (must be 3 or 4 years old by August 1, 2015) should contact the Springdale Early Childhood Building (409 N. Thompson Street) at 750-8889. Their office hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays.

Parents must bring the following to register their child:

• Birth certificate
• Up-to-date immunization records
• Proof of a physical exam (within last 2 years)
• Social Security card
• Proof of income for the past 30 days (check stubs)
• AR Kids card (if you have one)
• Food stamp number if receiving benefits
