Arkansas Waiver Association posted on their website and gave us some helpful information on a certain letter you may have gotten that was sent on or around January 14th 2016 to all individuals that are on the waiting list for the ACS Home and Community Based Waiver (“the ACS Waiver”). The letter stated that, “We are conducting follow up to determine if you are still interested in the ACS Waiver and wish for your application to remain current”. The letter further stated that, “If we do not have a response by [ten days following the date of the letter], we will consider that you are no longer wanting or needing services through this program and your application will be subject to closure”. (you can read the whole letter AWA wrote about it here)
AWA Instructs on their Facebook page "If you didn't receive a waiting list letter, and you are already on the list you should call the Waiver Applications Unit-Merinesa Morris at 501-683-0571. By calling you can verify that DDS has the correct contact information for your family. Calling will not get you a space on the list if you need to apply, but they can help direct you to the appropriate party for application." We want to also say that it's a good idea in addition to addressing the issue above to call DHS on a yearly basis to let them know you are still actively interested in Waiver and also to update any contact information (addresses, phone numbers, etc) that may have changed.
